Boris Nadezhdin, born on April twenty-sixth, nineteen sixty-three, is a prominent Russian opposition politician, engineer, and lecturer. His political career includes a notable tenure in the State Duma from nineteen ninety-nine to two thousand three, where he was recognized for his commitment to democratic values and reform.
In addition to his role in the Duma, Nadezhdin served as a municipal councillor in Moscow. He was known for his close alliance with the late Boris Nemtsov, a fellow opposition figure who was tragically murdered in two thousand fifteen, further solidifying Nadezhdin's position within the opposition movement.
In November twenty twenty-three, Nadezhdin announced his candidacy for the upcoming two thousand twenty-four Russian presidential election. However, his campaign faced significant challenges when the Central Election Commission barred him from running, citing alleged irregularities in the signatures supporting his candidacy.
By June twenty twenty-four, Nadezhdin's situation worsened as he was declared personally bankrupt by Rosenergobank. Shortly thereafter, he resigned from his position as a Moscow Municipal Deputy, clarifying through a Telegram news channel that his decision was not influenced by external pressures.
