Bouasone Bouphavanh, born on June third, nineteen fifty-four, is a prominent Laotian politician who served as the Prime Minister of Laos from two thousand six to two thousand ten. His appointment came during a significant government reshuffle, officially taking place on June eighth, two thousand six, when he succeeded Bounnhang Vorachith, who transitioned to the role of vice president.
Prior to his tenure as Prime Minister, Bouasone held the position of first deputy prime minister starting on October third, two thousand three. His political journey also included serving as the third deputy prime minister and leading the State Planning Committee, showcasing his extensive experience in governance and economic planning.
In the hierarchy of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, Bouasone ranks seventh in the Politburo, reflecting his influential role within the party. His term as Prime Minister concluded on December twenty-third, two thousand ten, when he was succeeded by Thongsing Thammavong.
