Brad Treliving, born on August eighteenth, nineteen sixty-nine, is a prominent Canadian ice hockey executive and former professional defenceman. He is best known for his recent role as the general manager of the Toronto Maple Leafs in the National Hockey League (NHL), a position he took on after a successful tenure with the Calgary Flames.
In nineteen ninety-six, Treliving co-founded the Western Professional Hockey League (WPHL), showcasing his commitment to the sport. His influence in the hockey world continued as he played a key role in the merger of the Central Hockey League (CHL) and WPHL in two thousand one. Treliving's career progressed when he became the assistant general manager of the Phoenix Coyotes in two thousand three, where he also managed the team's American Hockey League affiliate, the San Antonio Rampage, until two thousand fourteen.
On April twenty-eighth, two thousand fourteen, Treliving was appointed as the general manager of the Calgary Flames, a position he held until April seventeenth, two thousand twenty-three, when he and the team mutually agreed to part ways following the conclusion of the Flames' twenty twenty-two to twenty twenty-three season. Shortly thereafter, on May thirty-first, two thousand twenty-three, he was hired as the general manager of the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Despite his efforts, Treliving's time with the Maple Leafs came to an end on March thirtieth, two thousand twenty-six, when he was dismissed after nearly three seasons. Beyond his professional achievements, he is the son of Jim Treliving, a well-known Canadian businessman and co-owner of the Boston Pizza restaurant chain.
