Brad Wilk, born on September fifth, nineteen sixty-eight, is a renowned American drummer celebrated for his dynamic contributions to the rock music scene. He first made his mark in the early nineties as a drummer for the band Greta in nineteen ninety, before co-founding the iconic Rage Against the Machine in August nineteen ninety-one alongside Tom Morello and Zack de la Rocha. This groundbreaking band, known for its fusion of rock and political activism, saw Wilk's drumming style become a defining element of their sound.
After Rage Against the Machine disbanded in October two thousand, Wilk joined forces with Morello, bassist Tim Commerford, and Soundgarden's Chris Cornell to form the supergroup Audioslave. This collaboration produced several critically acclaimed albums until their breakup in two thousand seven. Wilk's versatility as a drummer was further showcased when he played with Prophets of Rage from two thousand sixteen to two thousand nineteen, a group that included Commerford, Morello, Chuck D, B-Real, and DJ Lord.
In addition to his work with these prominent bands, Wilk made a notable contribution to the music industry by performing drums on Black Sabbath's final album, titled 13, released in June two thousand thirteen. His early career also included an audition for Pearl Jam shortly after the release of their debut album, Ten, and he was previously a member of the band Indian Style, which featured Eddie Vedder.
