She has earned accolades including a bronze medal in the team event at the 2018 Winter Olympics, as well as a silver medal at the 2025 Four Continents Championships and a bronze at the 2020 edition of the same event. Her impressive track record also includes being a four-time Grand Prix medalist and an eight-time Challenger Series medalist.

Tennell's journey in figure skating began at the tender age of two, despite facing challenges such as learning to walk late and wearing orthotics to address a pronation issue. Her first experiences on the ice took place at a rink in Crystal Lake, Illinois. At nine years old, she began training under the guidance of coach Denise Myers, a partnership that lasted until August twenty-twenty.

Her competitive career took off when she won her first competition at the age of ten as a juvenile skater. By November twenty-sixteen, she had ascended to the senior level, showcasing her talent and determination.
