Wright-Phillips began his football journey with Manchester City in the Premier League. He later showcased his talents across various clubs in England, including Southampton, Plymouth Argyle, Charlton Athletic, and Brentford. His career took a significant turn when he joined the New York Red Bulls midway through the two thousand thirteen season, where he played a pivotal role in securing the Supporters' Shield.
