Breaux Greer, born on October 19, 1976, is a distinguished retired American track and field athlete renowned for his exceptional prowess in the javelin throw. His athletic journey began at Ouachita Parish High School, followed by his collegiate career at the University of Louisiana at Monroe, where he honed his skills and laid the foundation for a remarkable career.
Greer made history by setting the American record in the javelin throw with an impressive distance of ninety-one point twenty-nine meters, achieved on June 21, 2007, during the USA Outdoor Championships. This remarkable feat not only secured his place as the American record holder but also ranked him as the fifteenth best thrower in history. His record stood as the best throw in the world for nearly eight years until it was surpassed by Julius Yego in 2015.
Throughout his career, Greer showcased his dominance in the sport by becoming an eight-time American Champion, a title he held consecutively from the year two thousand until two thousand seven.
