Breel Embolo

Breel Embolo, born on February 14, 1997, is a talented professional footballer who currently plays as a forward for Ligue 1 club Rennes and the Switzerland national team. His journey began in Cameroon, where he was born, before relocating to France with his mother and siblings, eventually settling in Switzerland.

Embolo's football career took off as he progressed through the junior teams in Switzerland. He made his professional debut for FC Basel in March 2014, quickly establishing himself as a key player. During his time at Basel, he celebrated remarkable success, winning the Swiss Super League in each of his first three seasons.

In a significant career move, Embolo transferred to Germany, signing with Schalke 04 for a reported fee of twenty million euros. However, his transition to the Bundesliga was marred by an unfortunate ankle injury that sidelined him for nearly a year. After recovering, he continued his career at Borussia Mönchengladbach before making a move to Ligue 1 to join AS Monaco.

On the international stage, Embolo made his senior debut for Switzerland in 2015 and has since earned over eighty caps. He has represented his country at multiple prestigious tournaments, including the UEFA European Championship in 2016, 2020, and 2024, as well as the FIFA World Cup in 2018 and 2022.
