Brent Burns

Brent Burns, born on March ninth, nineteen eighty-five, is a distinguished Canadian professional ice hockey player currently serving as a defenceman for the Colorado Avalanche in the National Hockey League (NHL). His journey in the NHL began when he was drafted as a right wing, being selected twentieth overall by the Minnesota Wild during the two thousand three NHL entry draft. Upon turning professional, Burns transitioned into a defenceman, showcasing his versatility on the ice.

Renowned for his dynamic offensive capabilities, Burns has often been utilized as a forward throughout his career, particularly during the shortened two thousand twelve–thirteen season and the following two thousand thirteen–fourteen season. However, starting with the two thousand fourteen–fifteen season, he returned to his primary role on defence, where he has made a significant impact.

Burns' career is marked by notable achievements, including his impressive iron man streak, where he became the second player in NHL history to play one thousand consecutive games during the two thousand twenty-five–twenty-six season. His performance has not gone unnoticed; at the end of the two thousand fifteen–sixteen season, he finished third in the voting for the prestigious James Norris Memorial Trophy, awarded to the NHL's best defenceman.
