Brent McMurtry

Brent McMurtry, born on April 22, 1986, is a distinguished Canadian cross-country skier who has been making his mark in the sport since 2003. As a proud member of the Canadian National Cross Country Ski Team, he has represented his country on numerous prestigious platforms, including the Winter Olympics.

One of the highlights of McMurtry's career came during the 2010 Winter Olympics held in Vancouver. Competing in the men's individual sprint classic event on February 17, he showcased his skills, finishing 41st in the qualifying round with a time of three minutes and forty-five point zero two seconds, just over ten seconds behind the leader.

In addition to his Olympic endeavors, McMurtry achieved notable success in the World Cup circuit. His best finish came in 2009, where he secured ninth place in the team sprint event in Canada. Furthermore, he demonstrated his prowess in individual competitions, achieving a commendable sixteenth place in a fifteen kilometer plus fifteen kilometer double pursuit event at the same venue.

Beyond his athletic achievements, Brent garnered attention for his charisma and charm, being voted the best-looking male athlete at the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics. In a surprising turn of events, he also made headlines in the world of sports outside skiing, scoring the first goal in Urban Expos history during a match against Twaffle FC on October 8, 2019, at Empire Field in Vancouver, BC.
