Brian Kendrick, born on May twenty-ninth, nineteen seventy-nine, is a prominent American professional wrestler renowned for his extensive career in WWE. He first stepped into the wrestling ring in nineteen ninety-nine, adopting the ring name Leonardo Spanky, or simply Spanky, as he competed in various small American promotions, including Ring of Honor and Total Nonstop Action Wrestling, as well as in Japan with Zero1.
During his early career, Kendrick achieved notable success, winning the NWA International Lightweight Tag Team Championship and the Zero-One United States Openweight Championship. He had two significant stints with the World Wrestling Federation, which later became World Wrestling Entertainment, where he initially worked as a developmental wrestler before making his way to the main roster. In two thousand five, Kendrick returned to WWE, teaming up with Paul London, and together they captured both the World Tag Team Championship and the WWE Tag Team Championship, with their reign becoming the longest in history until two thousand sixteen.
After the dissolution of their tag team, Kendrick transitioned into a singles career, adopting the persona of The Brian Kendrick, with Ezekiel Jackson serving as his enforcer. He departed WWE in two thousand nine, only to return to TNA the following year, where he enjoyed a two-year run and secured the TNA X Division Championship. Kendrick continued to make waves on the independent circuit and occasionally toured with New Japan Pro-Wrestling until two thousand sixteen.
In two thousand fourteen, Kendrick began contributing to WWE as a trainer, and he made a notable return to the ring during the Cruiserweight Classic tournament in two thousand sixteen. Although he did not win the tournament, he was assigned to the newly established cruiserweight brand, 205 Live, where he captured the WWE Cruiserweight Championship. Over the next few years, Kendrick worked on both the 205 Live and NXT UK programs, eventually taking on the role of a backstage producer for the NXT brand.
In addition to his wrestling career, Kendrick is a promoter and currently owns and operates his own wrestling promotion, Brian Kendrick's Wrestling Pro Wrestling. He also serves as a professional wrestling trainer at Pro Wrestling Unplugged's Kayfabe college, sharing his extensive knowledge and experience with the next generation of wrestlers.
