Bronisława Wajs, born on 17 August 1908 in Lublin, was a remarkable figure in Polish literature, celebrated for her contributions as a poet and writer. Known affectionately by her Romani name, Papusza, which translates to 'Doll', she became a voice for the Romani people through her poignant verses and songs.
