Bruce Ridpath, born on June second, eighteen eighty-four, in Lakefield, Ontario, was a distinguished Canadian professional ice hockey player and general manager. He made his mark in the world of sports as a member of the Ottawa Senators, contributing to their triumph as the Stanley Cup champions in nineteen eleven. However, his promising career was tragically cut short due to an automobile accident.
In addition to his ice hockey prowess, Ridpath was an accomplished canoe racer and stunt paddler. He showcased his skills as a member of the Toronto Canoe Club, performing in various shows across Great Britain, Germany, and Spain, earning recognition for his athleticism and flair.
Despite his achievements, Ridpath remained a lifelong bachelor. His life came to a premature end in nineteen twenty-five at the age of forty-one, following a stroke he suffered on May eighteenth. He never regained consciousness and passed away at St. Michael's Hospital in Toronto, leaving behind a legacy in both ice hockey and canoe racing.
