Buddy Miles

George Allen "Buddy" Miles Jr. was born on September 5, 1947, and became a prominent figure in the American music scene. As a talented composer, drummer, guitarist, vocalist, and producer, he made significant contributions to various musical genres throughout his career.

In 1967, Miles co-founded the Electric Flag, a band that blended rock and blues, showcasing his exceptional skills. He later joined Jimi Hendrix's Band of Gypsys from 1969 to 1970, further solidifying his reputation as a versatile musician. Miles also established the Buddy Miles Express and subsequently led the Buddy Miles Band, demonstrating his leadership and creative vision.

Throughout his career, Miles collaborated with renowned artists such as Carlos Santana and John McLaughlin, enriching the music landscape with his unique sound. Additionally, he lent his voice to the California Raisins claymation TV commercials, recording two R&B albums that showcased his vocal talents.

Buddy Miles passed away on February 26, 2008, leaving behind a legacy that continues to inspire musicians and fans alike.
