Burak Yılmaz, born on July fifteenth, nineteen eighty-five, in Antalya, Turkey, is a distinguished Turkish football coach and former professional player. He currently serves as the head coach of Süper Lig club Gaziantep. Yılmaz's football journey began at Antalyaspor, where he signed his first professional contract in July two thousand two, making his debut in the 2002–03 season of the TFF First League.
Throughout his career, Yılmaz has played for all three of Istanbul's Big Three clubs, a feat achieved by only nine players, and he is one of just two to have also played for Trabzonspor. After four seasons at Antalyaspor, he moved to Beşiktaş for the 2006–07 season, where he primarily played as a winger. His career took him to Manisaspor briefly before joining Fenerbahçe for the 2008–09 Süper Lig season.
Yılmaz's major breakthrough came during his time at Trabzonspor, where he became the Süper Lig top scorer with thirty-three goals in the 2011–12 season. He enjoyed a successful spell at Galatasaray, winning two Süper Lig titles and becoming the top scorer again in the 2012–13 season. His international career includes representing Turkey at various youth levels and scoring thirty-one goals for the senior national team, making him the second all-time highest goalscorer for Turkey.
After stints in the Chinese Super League and a return to Trabzonspor, Yılmaz rejoined Beşiktaş before moving to Lille in 2020, where he contributed to the club's first league title in a decade. His last appearance for the national team was in 2022, marking the end of a remarkable international career.
