Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, widely known as Burna Boy, was born on July 2, 1991, in Nigeria. He hails from the Engenni Ijaw community in Ahoada West, Rivers State. Burna Boy's journey in music began to gain traction in 2012 with the release of his debut single, 'Like to Party,' which set the stage for his first studio album, L.I.F.E, released in 2013.
In 2017, he took a significant step in his career by signing a record deal with Atlantic Records and Warner Music Group. His third studio album, 'Outside,' released in 2018, marked his major label debut and showcased his unique sound to a broader audience.

In 2023, he was honored with the Member of the Order of the Federal Republic plaque for his contributions to music.
As of 2023, Burna Boy has solidified his status as a global music icon, winning his fourth Best International Act at the BET Awards and achieving over one billion streams on Spotify with two of his albums. His song 'Last Last' garnered multiple awards, including Afrobeats Single of the Year at The Headies 2023.
