Caity Gyorgy

Caity Gyorgy, a talented jazz singer hailing from Calgary, Alberta, has made significant strides in the Canadian music scene. Born on May twenty-fifth, nineteen ninety-eight, she has captivated audiences with her unique vocal style and engaging performances. Gyorgy’s musical journey began at a young age, leading her to pursue formal education in music.

She is a proud graduate of the music program at Humber College and further honed her craft by earning a Masters of Music in jazz performance from McGill University, where she studied under the esteemed Christine Jensen. Her dedication to her art has not gone unnoticed, as she received the prestigious Juno Award for Vocal Jazz Album of the Year in two thousand twenty-two for her EP, Now Pronouncing: Caity Gyorgy, and again in two thousand twenty-three for her debut LP, Featuring. She is also set to receive the award in two thousand twenty-five for her upcoming LP, Hello! How are you?

Gyorgy’s discography includes her debut album, No Bounds, and the aforementioned EP, both released in two thousand twenty-one. Her performances have graced notable events such as the Toronto Jazz Festival and the Calgary Jazz Festival, where she has shared the stage with renowned artists like Allison Au, Jocelyn Gould, and Pat LaBarbera. With a rich heritage stemming from her paternal grandfather's family, who immigrated from Hungary in the nineteen thirties, Gyorgy’s cultural background adds depth to her musical expression.
