Caleb Flaxey, born on August thirtieth, nineteen eighty-three, is a distinguished Canadian curler and golfer hailing from Caledon, Ontario. Originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Flaxey made his mark in the curling world by playing lead for the Eric Harnden rink, which represented Northern Ontario at the 2008 Tim Hortons Brier in Winnipeg, Manitoba, finishing with a three and eight record.
In two thousand nine, Flaxey showcased his skills at the Canadian Mixed Curling Championship in Iqaluit, Nunavut, where he played second for Ian Fisher, leading the team to a six and five record. His journey continued as he joined the Brad Jacobs team in two thousand eight, serving as lead for two seasons. During this time, he contributed to the team's impressive nine and two record at the 2010 Tim Hortons Brier in Halifax, Nova Scotia, ultimately reaching the semi-finals.
Flaxey's curling career took another turn in two thousand twelve when he joined the Wayne Tuck, Jr. rink, achieving success by winning a World Curling Tour event, the 2013 Mount Lawn Gord Carroll Classic. The team also competed in the 2013 The Dominion Tankard, finishing with a four and six record. His pivotal role as an alternate for the Brad Jacobs team at the 2013 Canadian Olympic Curling Trials in Winnipeg led to a remarkable seven and zero round robin record, culminating in a victory over John Morris in the final, securing their place at the 2014 Winter Olympics.
At the Sochi Olympics, Flaxey and his team excelled, finishing the round robin with a seven and two record. They triumphed over Liu Rui from China in the semi-finals and faced David Murdoch from Scotland in the final, winning nine to three and earning the prestigious Olympic gold medal. Currently, Flaxey shares his expertise as one of the coaches for the Matt Dunstone rink, continuing to contribute to the sport he loves.
