Campanus of Novara

Campanus of Novara, an esteemed Italian mathematician, astronomer, astrologer, and physician, was born around the year 1210 in Novara, Piedmont. His contributions to the field of mathematics are particularly notable for his work on Euclid's Elements, which solidified his reputation as a significant figure in the intellectual landscape of his time. In his writings, he often referred to himself as Campanus Nouariensis, while contemporary documents recognized him as Magister Campanus.
