Canada at the 2024 Summer Olympics

Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Canada at the 2024 Summer Olympics

Canada made a remarkable appearance at the 2024 Summer Olympics held in Paris, France, from July twenty-six to August eleven. Since its inaugural participation in nineteen hundred, Canada has proudly competed in every Summer Olympic Games, with the exception of the nineteen eighty Moscow Olympics, which were boycotted in solidarity with the United States.

The Canadian Olympic Committee confirmed a final team of three hundred sixteen athletes, including one hundred twenty-three men and one hundred ninety-two women, along with twenty-two alternates. However, due to an injury, decathlete Pierce LePage withdrew, resulting in a final contingent of three hundred fifteen athletes representing nine provinces and territories across the nation.

On July twenty-four, sprinter Andre De Grasse and weightlifter Maude Charron were honored as the flagbearers for the opening ceremony. As the Games concluded on August eleven, Olympic champion hammer thrower Ethan Katzberg and multiple gold medalist Summer McIntosh had the privilege of carrying the flag during the closing ceremony.

Canada's athletes achieved an impressive haul of twenty-seven medals, comprising nine gold, seven silver, and eleven bronze. This outstanding performance placed Canada twelfth in the medal standings and eleventh in total medals won. The twenty-seven medals marked the nation's second-best total in Olympic history, following the boycotted nineteen eighty-four Games, and surpassed the twenty-four medals earned in the twenty-twenty Olympics.
