Cao Huan, born in the year two hundred forty-six, was the fifth and final emperor of the state of Cao Wei during the tumultuous Three Kingdoms period of Chinese history. Known by his courtesy name Jingming, he ascended to the throne during a time marked by political intrigue and shifting allegiances.
On the fourth of February in the year two hundred sixty-six, Cao Huan made a significant decision to abdicate the throne in favor of Sima Yan, who would later become Emperor Wu of the Jin dynasty. This pivotal moment not only marked the end of the Wei regime but also set the stage for the unification of China under the Jin dynasty.
Following his abdication, Cao Huan was bestowed with the title of
