Carissa Moore

Carissa Moore, born on August 27, 1992, is a trailblazing American surfer who has made her mark in the world of competitive surfing. She achieved a historic milestone by becoming the first-ever winner of the Olympic gold medal in women's shortboard surfing at the 2020 Summer Olympics, showcasing her exceptional talent on a global stage.

In addition to her Olympic success, Moore is a five-time world champion, having clinched titles in 2011, 2013, 2015, 2019, and 2021 on the World Surf League (WSL) Women's World Tour. Notably, she made history by being the first surfer to win both a WSL world title and an Olympic title in the same year, solidifying her status as one of the sport's greats.

Her contributions to surfing have not gone unnoticed; in 2013, Glamour magazine honored her as one of their Women of the Year. The following year, she was inducted into the Surfers' Hall of Fame, a testament to her influence and achievements in the sport.
