Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Carl Milles

Carl Milles, born on June twenty-third, eighteen seventy-five, was a distinguished Swedish sculptor, architect, and university teacher. His artistic journey was deeply intertwined with his family, as he was married to fellow artist Olga Milles (née Granner) and had notable siblings, including his sister Ruth Milles and half-brother Evert Milles, an architect.

Throughout his career, Milles created several iconic sculptures that have become landmarks in Sweden and beyond. Among his most celebrated works are the Gustaf Vasa statue located at the Stockholm Nordic Museum, the striking Poseidon statue in Gothenburg, and the Orpheus group that graces the exterior of the Stockholm Concert Hall. His artistic contributions also extended internationally, with the Fountain of Faith situated in Falls Church, Virginia.

In addition to his prolific output, Milles established his home near Stockholm, known as Millesgården. This serene location not only served as his residence but has also become his final resting place and is now a museum, allowing visitors to appreciate his legacy and the beauty of his work.
