Carl Panzram

Carl Panzram, born on June 28, 1891, was an American rapist and serial killer whose life was marked by a relentless cycle of crime and violence. Throughout his tumultuous existence, Panzram confessed to the murders of twenty-one boys and men, although only five of these cases could be substantiated. His chilling admissions suggest that he may have taken the lives of over one hundred individuals across the United States, with additional victims suspected in Portuguese Angola.

In addition to his heinous acts of murder, Panzram claimed to have committed more than a thousand acts of rape against males of various ages. His criminal activities spanned decades, during which he was frequently incarcerated and managed to escape from multiple prisons, showcasing a life of evasion and defiance against the law.

Panzram's life of crime ultimately culminated in his execution by hanging in 1930. This grim fate was a result of his conviction for the murder of a prison employee at the United States Penitentiary in Leavenworth, Kansas. His confessions, documented in his autobiography, reveal a deeply troubled individual whose legacy is one of violence and infamy.
