Carlo Nash

Carlo Nash, born on September 13, 1973, is an English former professional footballer who made his mark as a goalkeeper and later transitioned into coaching. His football journey began at North West Counties League clubs, where he played for Rossendale United and Clitheroe. Notably, he featured in the FA Vase final in 1996 while with Clitheroe, showcasing his early potential.

In 1997, Nash's talent caught the attention of Crystal Palace, who signed him for a fee of thirty-five thousand pounds. He played a pivotal role in helping the club secure promotion from the First Division via the play-offs. Following his time at Palace, he spent three years at Stockport County before making a significant move to Manchester City in January 2001 for one hundred thousand pounds. During his tenure at City, he made fifteen Premier League appearances and contributed to the team's success in the 2001–02 First Division title-winning campaign.

Nash's career continued to flourish as he joined Middlesbrough in August 2003 for a nominal fee, later moving to Preston North End in March 2005. At Preston, he made ninety-four appearances, although he faced disappointment in two play-off campaigns. In June 2007, he transferred to Wigan Athletic for three hundred thousand pounds, but his playing time diminished in the following years, with only thirteen first-team games over the next seven years.

During his later career, Nash had a loan spell at Stoke City, contributing to their Championship promotion-winning campaign in 2007–08 with ten appearances. He also served as a backup goalkeeper at Wigan Athletic, Everton, Stoke City, and Norwich City, earning two FA Cup runners-up medals as an unused substitute in the finals of 2009 and 2011. After retiring from professional play, he transitioned into coaching, working as a goalkeeping coach at Oldham Athletic, Salford City, and Port Vale.

Outside of football, Carlo Nash is divorced and has two children, balancing his personal life with a successful career in the sport.
