Carlos Ott

Carlos Ott, born on October 16, 1946, is a distinguished Uruguayan-Canadian architect renowned for his innovative designs and international acclaim. His career took a significant turn in 1983 when he won the prestigious international design competition for the Opéra Bastille in Paris, a landmark project that was inaugurated on July 14, 1989, coinciding with the bicentennial of the French Revolution.

Starting his architectural journey from an office in Toronto, Canada, Ott has successfully expanded his practice across the globe. His main office is located in Montevideo, Uruguay, but he also maintains a presence in major cities such as Dubai, Montreal, Shanghai, and Toronto.
