Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Carlos P. Garcia

Carlos Polestico García, known by his initials CPG, was born on November 4, 1896, and became a prominent figure in Philippine politics. He served as the eighth president of the Philippines from 1957 to 1961, following his tenure as the fourth Vice President from 1953 to 1957. A lawyer by profession, García's political career began when he represented Bohol’s 3rd district in the House of Representatives.

His political journey continued as he served as a senator from 1945 to 1953. García was the Nacionalista Party's nominee for vice president alongside Ramon Magsaysay in the 1953 presidential election, a campaign that resulted in their victory. Following Magsaysay's untimely death in 1957, García ascended to the presidency, later securing a full term in the same year's election.

Despite his achievements, García faced challenges in his political career, notably being defeated by his vice president, Diosdado Macapagal, in the 1961 presidential election. His legacy as a diplomat, politician, and lawyer continues to influence Philippine politics.
