Carly Fiorina, born on September sixth, nineteen fifty-four, is a prominent American businesswoman and politician. She is best known for her groundbreaking role as the chief executive officer of Hewlett-Packard from nineteen ninety-nine to two thousand five, where she made history as the first woman to lead a Fortune Top-20 company.

Fiorina began her professional journey at AT&T before moving to Lucent Technologies, where she played a pivotal role in a joint venture with Philips. In two thousand two, she orchestrated the largest technology sector merger at that time, overseeing HP's acquisition of Compaq, which positioned HP as the world's leading seller of personal computers. Despite the merger resulting in significant layoffs of thirty thousand employees, the workforce eventually grew to one hundred fifty thousand during her leadership.

In February two thousand five, Fiorina's tenure came to an end when she resigned as CEO and chair due to a disagreement with the board. Following her departure from HP, she took on the role of Chair at the philanthropic organization Good360, contributing to various charitable initiatives.
