Carmen Campagne

Carmen Campagne, born on September eighth, nineteen fifty-nine, was a celebrated Canadian singer and children's entertainer. Hailing from Willow Bunch, Saskatchewan, she was a proud Fransaskoise who made significant contributions to the music scene, particularly in the realm of children's music.

In the late nineteen seventies, Campagne became a member of the folk music band Folle Avoine, where she collaborated with her siblings Paul, Suzanne, Michelle, and Annette Campagne. Together, they created a vibrant musical legacy, with many of them continuing their artistic journey in the folk band Hart-Rouge.

Her talent was recognized in nineteen eighty-nine when she, alongside Connie Kaldor, received a Juno Award for Best Children's Album for their work on 'Lullaby Berceuse.' This accolade highlighted her dedication to enhancing music for young audiences.

In two thousand thirteen, Campagne was honored as a Member of the Order of Canada, acknowledging her impactful contributions as a singer, songwriter, and composer, particularly in French-language education.

Carmen Campagne's life was tragically cut short when she passed away from cancer at the age of fifty-eight on July fourth, two thousand eighteen, in Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts, Quebec. Her legacy continues to inspire many in the world of children's music.
