Caroline van der Leeuw

Caroline Esmeralda van der Leeuw, born on 26 April 1981, is a celebrated Dutch singer and jazz musician, known for her captivating performances primarily in English. She first gained widespread recognition in 2009 with her debut single, 'Back It Up', which showcased her unique blend of pop and jazz influences.

Her debut album, 'Deleted Scenes from the Cutting Room Floor', was released on 29 January 2010 and quickly became a monumental success. By August of the same year, the album had achieved an impressive thirty weeks at number one on the Dutch album charts, setting a record that surpassed even Michael Jackson's iconic 'Thriller' by one week.

In recognition of her remarkable talent, Caroline was awarded the prestigious Edison Award for Best Female Artist on 3 October 2010. She continued to build on her success with the release of her second studio album, 'The Shocking Miss Emerald', in 2013, which debuted at number one in both the Dutch and United Kingdom album charts.
