Carsten Jensen

Carsten Jensen, born on July twenty-four, nineteen fifty-two, is a prominent Danish author and political columnist. He gained initial acclaim as a literary critic for the renowned Copenhagen daily, Politiken, where his insightful critiques laid the groundwork for his future literary endeavors.

His literary contributions include the acclaimed novel I Have Seen the World Begin, published in nineteen ninety-six, which explores the complexities of global knowledge. This work earned him the prestigious Danish booksellers award, De Gyldne Laurbær, in the same year, solidifying his reputation in the literary community.

In two thousand six, Jensen released Vi, de druknede (We, the Drowned), a significant chronicle that reflects on the birth of modern Denmark through the lens of his hometown, Marstal. This novel further established his narrative prowess and deep connection to Danish history.

His later work, Den første sten (The First Stone), published in two thousand fifteen, delves into the harrowing experiences of Danish soldiers in Afghanistan.
