He made a significant mark in the world of association football as both a player and a coach. His career spanned an impressive fifteen years, from 1927 to 1943, during which he showcased his talents primarily as a striker.
Leite's football journey saw him don the jerseys of Petropolitano and Botafogo, where he achieved remarkable success. With Botafogo, he clinched five Campeonato Carioca titles in the years nineteen thirty, nineteen thirty-two, nineteen thirty-three, nineteen thirty-four, and nineteen thirty-five. His prowess on the field was further highlighted by his status as the top goalscorer in the years nineteen thirty-one, nineteen thirty-five, nineteen thirty-six, nineteen thirty-eight, and nineteen thirty-nine.
In addition to his club achievements, Carvalho Leite was a proud member of the Brazilian national team during the inaugural World Cup in nineteen thirty.
