Carwyn Jones, born on March twenty-first, nineteen sixty-seven, is a prominent Welsh politician and barrister. He represented Bridgend in the National Assembly for Wales from nineteen ninety-nine until twenty twenty-one, showcasing his commitment to public service over two decades. In twenty twenty-five, he became a member of the House of Lords, further extending his influence in Welsh politics.

Jones's political career includes significant roles within the Welsh Government. He served as Secretary for Agriculture and Rural Development from two thousand to two thousand two, followed by his tenure as Minister of State for the Environment from two thousand three to two thousand seven. After the two thousand seven election, he took on the role of Minister for Education, Culture and the Welsh Language, and later became Counsel General for Wales and Leader of the House, thanks to the coalition agreement with Plaid Cymru.

On December first, two thousand nine, Carwyn Jones succeeded Rhodri Morgan as the First Minister of Wales and leader of Welsh Labour. He was officially nominated by the National Assembly on December ninth, two thousand nine, and was sworn into office the following day, marking a significant milestone in his political journey.

In April twenty eighteen, Jones announced his intention to step down as First Minister in the autumn of that year. His leadership concluded in December twenty eighteen when Mark Drakeford, who had served as Finance Secretary in Jones' cabinet, was elected as his successor.
