Ramone Johnson, known to the world as Cashis, was born on October 10, 1982, in Chicago, Illinois. Growing up in the vibrant city, he developed a passion for music that would eventually lead him to become a prominent figure in the rap scene. After relocating to Irvine, California, Cashis began to carve out his niche in the industry, gaining recognition for his unique style and lyrical prowess.
His breakthrough came when he was featured on the Shady Records compilation album, Eminem Presents: The Re-Up, alongside the legendary Eminem. This exposure helped him launch his career, and in 2007, he released The County Hound EP, which debuted at number one hundred six on the US Billboard 200, selling six thousand seven hundred copies in its first week. Cashis is perhaps best known for his collaboration on Eminem's hit track, 'You Don't Know,' featuring 50 Cent and Lloyd Banks.
In August 2011, Cashis announced his departure from Shady Records through the intro of his mixtape, Rooftop Series Vol.1, while affirming his commitment to Bogish Brand Entertainment. After several delays, he released his long-awaited solo debut album, The Art of Dying, independently on October 30, 2012. Although the album did not achieve chart success, it showcased his growth as an artist.
On October 15, 2013, Cashis released his second studio album, The County Hound 2, which featured significant production contributions from Eminem and was supported by five retail singles. His journey through the music industry reflects his resilience and dedication to his craft, making him a noteworthy figure in contemporary hip-hop.
