Kazimierz Michał Władysław Wiktor Pułaski, known as Casimir Pulaski, was born in March 1745 in Warsaw. A Polish nobleman and military officer, he was deeply influenced by his father's legacy and developed a keen interest in politics and military affairs from a young age. His early involvement in the Bar Confederation marked him as a prominent figure in the fight against foreign domination of the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth.
After the failure of the uprising, Pulaski was forced into exile. His journey led him to North America, where he was recommended by Benjamin Franklin to assist in the American Revolutionary War. Pulaski quickly distinguished himself as a leader, earning the title of
