Catherine Ward

Catherine Ward, born on February twenty-seventh, nineteen eighty-seven, is a distinguished ice hockey player and coach, renowned for her contributions to the sport in Canada. A key member of the Canada women's national ice hockey team, Ward has made significant strides in her career, showcasing her talent on both national and international stages.

Her collegiate career at McGill University was marked by exceptional achievements, including being part of the 2008–09 McGill Martlets women's hockey team that clinched the Canadian Interuniversity Sport title. Ward's prowess on the ice was evident as she set a QSSF record for points by a defenseman and became the first Martlet to earn the CIS rookie-of-the-year honor since the award's inception in two thousand one.

Ward's accolades continued to accumulate as she was drafted seventh overall by the Montreal Stars in the two thousand eleven CWHL Draft. She established herself as a formidable presence on the blue line, representing Canada in the U22 team and contributing to the success of the 2009 Women's World Championship team and the gold medal-winning squad at the 2010 Olympics.

In addition to her impressive record at McGill, where she set new single-season marks for goals, assists, and points, Ward also played a season with the Boston University Terriers in the NCAA.
