Cathy Priestner

Cathy Priestner, born on May twenty-seventh, nineteen fifty-six, is a distinguished Canadian speed skater who made her mark in the world of winter sports. She gained international recognition when she won a silver medal at the nineteen seventy-six Winter Olympics, where she also had the honor of being Canada's flag bearer during the closing ceremonies. Her Olympic journey began earlier, as she competed in the nineteen seventy-two Winter Olympics, showcasing her talent on the global stage.

At the young age of fifteen, Cathy participated in her first competition, setting the foundation for a remarkable athletic career. In nineteen ninety-four, her contributions to the sport were recognized when she was inducted into the Canadian Olympic Hall of Fame, a testament to her dedication and achievements in speed skating.

Beyond her athletic prowess, Cathy has made significant strides in sport management. As Cathy Priestner Allinger, she played a pivotal role in the organization of the two thousand ten Vancouver Olympics, serving as the executive vice president of sport, Paralympic games, and venue management.
