Ceca (singer)

Svetlana Ražnatović, widely known as Ceca, is a prominent Serbian singer born on June 14, 1973. She made her mark in the music industry with her debut in 1988 and has since released a remarkable total of sixteen studio albums. Ceca is often referred to as the 'Serbian Mother' and is celebrated as one of the most commercially successful artists in Serbia, boasting record sales that exceed seven million.

Her influence extends beyond music; in 2013, she captivated an audience of one hundred fifty thousand at her concert in Ušće, Belgrade, marking it as one of the highest-attended concerts globally. Ceca's popularity has solidified her status as a regional music star and a leading figure in Balkan music.

In her personal life, Ceca was married to the notorious Serbian mobster and paramilitary leader Željko 'Arkan' Ražnatović from 1995 until his assassination in 2000. Together, they had two children, one of whom is the fellow singer Anastasija. Despite her success, Ceca faced legal challenges, including a conviction for embezzlement and illegal firearm possession in 2011.

In 2023, she achieved a significant milestone by becoming the youngest recipient of the Life Achievement Award at the Serbian Folk Music Assembly, further cementing her legacy in the music industry.
