Cha Min-kyu

Cha Min-kyu, born on March 16, 1993, is a distinguished South Korean speed skater known for his remarkable performances on the international stage.

He made a significant mark at the 2018 Winter Olympics, where he clinched a silver medal in the 500 metres race. Cha set an Olympic record with an impressive time of 34.42 seconds, although this record was narrowly surpassed by Håvard Lorentzen, who finished just 0.01 seconds ahead.

Continuing his legacy, Cha also competed in the 2022 Winter Olympics, where he once again showcased his talent by securing another silver medal in the 500 metres event. His time of 34.39 seconds placed him only 0.07 seconds behind the gold medalist, Gao Tingyu of China, who established a new Olympic record.
