Hailing from an aristocratic Brahmin family in the princely state of Bhor, Agashe's early career was marked by his roles in education and law. He held various significant positions within the Bhor State Council, including president from nineteen thirty-four to nineteen forty-eight, vice president from nineteen thirty-three to nineteen thirty-four, and chief justiciar from nineteen twenty to nineteen thirty-two. His leadership during these formative years helped shape the governance of Bhor State.
Agashe was also a prolific writer, contributing extensively to the Kesari newspaper. He was a founding member of the Mahratta Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture, and his fundraising efforts for the sugar syndicate introduced what became known as the Agashe pattern, a pioneering method of equity crowdfunding in Maharashtra.
His philanthropic spirit was evident in his generous donations to educational institutions such as the Deccan Education Society and the Bhandarkar Oriental Research Institute. Agashe's commitment to education was further recognized through the establishment of several institutions named in his honor, including the Chandrashekhar Agashe College of Physical Education and the Chandrashekhar Agashe High School in Shreepur.
In addition to his educational contributions, Agashe served as co-vice president of the Bharat Itihas Sanshodhak Mandal from nineteen fifty-three to nineteen fifty-five, collaborating with notable figures in the region.
