Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Charles de Tornaco

Charles de Tornaco, born on June seventh, nineteen twenty-seven, was a notable racing driver from Belgium, known for his participation in the world of motorsport during the early years of Formula One. He made his debut in the Formula One World Championship on June twenty-second, nineteen fifty-two, competing in four Grands Prix throughout his career. Despite his efforts, he did not score any championship points.

De Tornaco was not only a driver but also a co-founder of Ecurie Belgique, a team that would later evolve into Ecurie Francorchamps. His racing endeavors were primarily associated with this team, where he drove Ferraris, showcasing his engineering skills and passion for racing.

Racing was a family affair for de Tornaco, as his father, Baron Raymond de Tornaco, was also a racing driver who participated in endurance events, including the inaugural running of the twenty-four hours of Le Mans in nineteen twenty-three.

Tragically, de Tornaco's career was cut short during practice for the nineteen fifty-three Modena Grand Prix when he rolled his car, resulting in severe head and neck injuries. Unfortunately, due to the lack of adequate medical facilities at the time, he succumbed to his injuries while being transported to a hospital in a private saloon car.
