Charles Richard

Charles Richard, born on March tenth, nineteen hundred in Sainte-Anne-de-la-Pocatière, Quebec, was a distinguished figure in both the medical and political arenas. A skilled dental surgeon, he dedicated his career to the field of dentistry, eventually becoming an oral and maxillofacial surgeon. His commitment to his profession was evident as he served as vice-president of Quebec's provincial dental society, the Société dentaire de Québec.

Richard's political journey began with his candidacy in the nineteen thirty-five federal election for the Kamouraska riding, where he faced defeat against Joseph Georges Bouchard of the Liberal party. However, his perseverance paid off when he was elected as a member of the Progressive Conservative party in the nineteen fifty-eight general election, representing Kamouraska in the 24th Canadian Parliament.

During World War II, Richard contributed to the war effort as a member of the Royal Canadian Dental Corps, showcasing his dedication to service beyond his professional commitments. His tenure in the House of Commons was brief, as he served only one term before being defeated in the nineteen sixty-two election by Charles-Eugène Dionne of the Social Credit party.
