Charlotte Kalla

Charlotte Kalla, born on July 22, 1987, is a celebrated Swedish Tornedalian retired cross-country skier and ski jumper. Over her illustrious career, she became a four-time Olympian, achieving remarkable success with three gold medals and a total of nine Olympic medals from 2004 to 2022. Kalla's extraordinary accomplishments have earned her the distinction of being Sweden's most decorated Olympic competitor, a title she shares with a select few, and she stands as the all-time leader among Swedish female athletes.

In addition to her Olympic feats, Kalla has made her mark on the World Championships, where she is a thirteen-time medalist. Notably, she clinched a gold medal in the ten-kilometer freestyle event at the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Falun in 2015. This victory was historic, as it made her the first Swedish female cross-country skier to secure individual golds in both the Olympics and World Championships.

Her talent and determination were further recognized in 2008 when she received the prestigious Jerring Award for her outstanding performance in the Tour de Ski. Kalla's career came to a close after the Swedish Championships in March 2022, marking the end of an era for one of Sweden's most beloved athletes.
