Charlotte Maxeke

Charlotte Maxeke, born on April seventh, eighteen seventy-one, was a pioneering South African religious leader and a formidable social and political activist. Her remarkable journey began with her education at Wilberforce University in Ohio, where she made history by graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in nineteen oh three. This achievement not only marked her as the first black woman in South Africa to earn a university degree but also as the first African woman to graduate from an American university.
