Chiang Wan-an, born on December twenty-six, nineteen seventy-eight, is a prominent Taiwanese politician and lawyer, currently serving as the fourteenth mayor of Taipei since two thousand twenty-two. As a member of the Kuomintang (KMT), he holds the distinction of being the youngest individual to assume this prestigious office in the city's history.

Raised in Taipei, Chiang is the son of notable KMT politician Chiang Hsiao-yen and is recognized as a great-grandson of the influential Chiang Kai-shek. His academic journey began at National Chengchi University, where he graduated in two thousand, followed by earning three law degrees from the University of Pennsylvania.

Before entering the political arena, Chiang built a successful career as a corporate lawyer in Silicon Valley, even founding his own law firm. However, in two thousand fifteen, he made the pivotal decision to resign from his legal practice to pursue a career in public service.

Chiang's political career took off in the two thousand sixteen Taiwanese legislative election, where he secured a seat representing Taipei City Constituency three in the Legislative Yuan. He was re-elected in two thousand twenty, further solidifying his influence in Taiwanese politics. His most recent achievement came in the two thousand twenty-two local elections, where he triumphed over former health minister Chen Shih-chung and former deputy mayor Huang Shan-shan to become mayor.
