Chilly Gonzales

Jason Charles Beck, known professionally as Chilly Gonzales, is a multifaceted Canadian musician, born on March twentieth, nineteen seventy-two. Currently residing in London, he has previously called Paris, Berlin, and Cologne home. Gonzales' artistic journey traverses a myriad of genres, showcasing his versatility as a pianist, composer, and producer.

Gonzales has made a significant mark in the music industry, particularly noted for his rap albums and collaborations with renowned artists such as Feist and Drake. His classical piano compositions, especially the acclaimed Solo Piano trilogy, highlight his profound musicality. Additionally, he has worked with electronic music giants like Daft Punk and Boys Noize, the latter of whom he collaborates with under the alias Octave Minds.

In twenty twenty-two, Gonzales teamed up with Plastikman to release a piano rework of the iconic minimal techno album Consumed, originally released in nineteen ninety-eight, in collaboration with Canadian musician Tiga, titled 'Consumed in Key'. His creative endeavors extend beyond music; he hosts a web series called Pop Music Masterclass on WDR and has contributed to various documentaries and radio shows, including Classical Connections on BBC Radio 1.

As a writer, Gonzales has penned opinion pieces for notable publications such as The Guardian, Vice, and Billboard. He is also the younger brother of film composer Christophe Beck.
