Ching Johnson

Ching Johnson, born on December seventh, nineteen ninety-eight, was a distinguished Canadian professional ice hockey player known for his formidable presence on the ice. As a defenceman, he played for the New York Rangers and the New York Americans in the National Hockey League (NHL) from nineteen twenty-six to nineteen thirty-eight. An original member of the Rangers, Johnson contributed to two Stanley Cup championship teams, solidifying his legacy in the sport.

Despite not starting his competitive hockey career until his twenties, Johnson quickly made a name for himself in the NHL, debuting at nearly thirty years old. His reputation as one of the hardest bodycheckers in the game earned him a devoted fan base. Over the course of his career, he participated in four NHL post-season all-star teams and played in the historic Ace Bailey Benefit Game, the first all-star game in league history.

In addition to his impressive playing career, Johnson served as a veteran of the First World War, showcasing his dedication both on and off the ice.
