Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Chokri Belaid

Chokri Belaïd, born on November twenty-six, nineteen sixty-four, was a prominent Tunisian politician and lawyer known for his unwavering commitment to political reform and social justice. As a leading figure in the left-secular Democratic Patriots' Movement, he emerged as a significant voice against the oppressive regime of Zine El Abidine Ben Ali prior to the Tunisian revolution in two thousand eleven.

Throughout his career, Belaïd was a fierce critic of both the Ben Ali government and the subsequent Islamist-led administration. His advocacy for democratic principles and human rights made him a respected leader among opposition groups, as he tirelessly fought for a more equitable society in Tunisia.

Tragically, on February sixth, two thousand thirteen, Belaïd's life was cut short when he was fatally shot outside his home in El Menzah, near the capital city of Tunis. His assassination sent shockwaves throughout the nation, prompting Prime Minister Hamadi Jebali to announce plans to dissolve the existing national government and establish a temporary national unity government in response to the crisis.
