Chris Hughton

Chris Hughton, born on December eleventh, nineteen fifty-eight, is a distinguished figure in the world of football, both as a player and a manager. Originating from England, he proudly represented the Republic of Ireland national team, earning fifty-three caps and scoring one goal. His playing career was predominantly spent at Tottenham Hotspur, where he made his professional debut at the age of twenty and played as a left-back for thirteen years before moving on to West Ham United and Brentford, ultimately retiring in nineteen ninety-three.

Transitioning into coaching, Hughton began his managerial journey at Tottenham, where he served from nineteen ninety-three to two thousand seven, first as a coach and later as assistant manager. His career took a significant turn when he joined Newcastle United in two thousand eight, initially as first team coach and later as caretaker manager. He successfully led the team back to the Premier League in his first season, breaking several records along the way, although he was dismissed the following December while the team was positioned twelfth in the league.

Hughton continued to make his mark in football management with a brief tenure at Birmingham City, where he achieved a commendable fourth place in the league. In October two thousand twenty, Hughton was appointed manager of Nottingham Forest, but his time there was cut short in September two thousand twenty-one due to a challenging start to the season. He later served as a technical advisor for the Ghana national team during their World Cup qualifiers in March two thousand twenty-two. In February two thousand twenty-three, he was elevated to head coach of Ghana following the resignation of Otto Addo, but was relieved of his duties after the team's group-stage exit at the twenty twenty-three Africa Cup of Nations.
