Chris Squire

Chris Squire, born on March 4, 1948, was a renowned English musician celebrated for his exceptional skills as a bassist and songwriter. He is best known as the driving force behind the progressive rock band Yes, where he served as the bassist and backing vocalist. Squire remained the only constant member of the band until his passing in 2015, leaving an indelible mark on the music world.

Throughout his career, Squire was recognized as the preeminent bassist among English progressive rock bands. His innovative sound and intricately crafted melodic bass lines not only influenced his contemporaries but also inspired future generations of bassists. His mastery of the instrument was closely associated with his beloved Rickenbacker 4001, specifically the British model RM1999.

In recognition of his contributions to music, Squire was posthumously inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2017 as a member of Yes. This honor solidified his legacy as a pivotal figure in the evolution of progressive rock.

From 1991 to 2000, Rickenbacker honored Squire's influence by producing a limited-edition signature model bass, the 4001CS, further cementing his status as a legendary bassist.
